I use CDBurner XP on my Windows 10, and "copied" (burnt) the Violet0000 directory (including all sub directories). I followed the instructions, downloaded the zip file and unzipped it. Found a DVD in my collection that was a Region 1, so DVD didnt work (previous player was code free). I just found this post and tried it: I have the LG UBK90, since 2 plus years already - German region 2. I bought the LG UBK90 yesterday and successfully applied the hack yesterday. I've tried all suggested methods and always get 'check disk' on the CDR that I create. Region code hack posted by MattMan, December 21 2021: Need a crack for this player, to change from region 1 to region free Montblanc not work Region code hack posted by Irving, June 02 2021: Thanks to Thymianstryche above who gave me the clue as to what might've been causing it when they mentioned they were using a Mac too. Using Windows to burn this using Parallels did it for me, after I'd made sure to delete the extra files that Macs seem to infest zip files with. And delete the desktop.ini file if it tries to place that onto the disc before the burn. Also make sure that Windows burns the disc 'as a CD' rather than 'As a USB' (if it asks). Make sure (if using parallels) that you open every folder and delete any. If you can, do the download and burn on a windows PC, or use something like Parallels Get the file from here as before !CQFz2TAK!1BO7aSN-BFL_sEhneyfVgiQ3ZUzHGinvlycQEvdmpw Extract and prepare that whole structure to go onto a CD. STOP USING YOUR MAC TO DO THIS The Mac puts extra files everywhere and that's what confuses the player. Drag the Violet0000 folder onto a CDR, do not set to "USB" (default option), instead set to CD/DVD (master) and then burn it. I used the download link from the LG BP440 hack: !CQFz2TAK!1BO7aSN-BFL_sEhneyfVgiQ3ZUzHGinvlycQEvdmpw It has the whole file structure you need. In the end I burned the file from the link below on a Win7 laptop. The LG player would always just say "Data disc" or "check disc". Please note: I tried this with the Montblanc.txt file from the avforums link plus the one from mega.nz with CDRs burned on a Mac. I can confirm that the region code hack works on LG UBK90, FR, bought in Germany. Region code hack posted by Thymianstrauch, January 29 2020: ![]() But not for Blu-Rays that are not Region Free. I've tried a few times with no luck. To burn the CDRW, Windows 10 Explorer utility worked fine for me: choose "CD option" (not USB option) after erasing the CDR (if it's an old one), and then, juste copy/past the /Violet0000/Rubicon/MontBlanc.DVD to the CDR delete all unwanted files (such as the one that is automatically created by this damn windows) and burn the CDRW. (not a DVD.) - path /Violet0000/Rubicon - "MontBlanc.DVD" file (search the internet, you'll find it) - Windows 10 explorer "inhouse" utility to burn CDR Not sure that the uppercases matter. I tried several times in order to find the good one. The MontBlanc trick did work with LG UBK90 region 2 Fr (02/2018). Region code hack posted by byebye, December 08 2019:
